The Union Council of Ministers will see a reshuffle on Sunday, 9th November 2014 at 1pm. After the general elections in May, this would be the first reshuffling and expansion of the Cabinet under Modi Sarkar. This first expansion after Modi assumed he power will see many new faces including those from the allies Shiv Sena and TDP. Power Minister Piyush Goyal was the one to inform about the reshuffling session to be held on Sunday, in an economic gathering. However, the first report came from Andhra Pradesh chief Minister, Chandrababu Nadu whose party, Telugu Desam party is an ally of BJP. Official sources have confirmed the time to be of 1 pm and the venue is decided as the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Ministry now stands at 25-23 of the level of the Cabinet strength wise. This includes the Prime Minister Modi along with 22 of the Minister of the State rank. Among them, only 10 MoS holds the independent charges of their ministries. Earlier this year after the elections, Modi had announced that he would like to keep his Cabinet strength small while giving sub-divisions under each Minister.
The new faces in the oath ceremony would include Vijay Sampla, who is a new face in the BJP from Hoshiarpur region in Punjab. Other new names include Jayant Sinha, the son of former Union Minister yashwant Sinha, a very renowned face indeed. Some more leaders would include Col Sonaram Chaudhary and Gajendra singh Shekhawat both from Rajasthan, Hansraj Ahir from Maharashtra, Birender Singh from Haryana, Giriraj Singh or Bhola singh from Bihar and former Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. From the allies, the most expected faces are Ram Mohan Naidu (the son of late Union Minister K Yerran Naidu) or YS Chowdhary. Anil Desai who is the Rajya Sabha member from Shiv Shena may also face an inclusion into the Cabinet but alas the issues between BJP and Shive Sena cool down before that. Suresh Prabhu who was the Former Union Minister is also likely to be included into the Cabinet and is speculated to be the head of the body replacing the Planning Commission. He thus, will be holding a very high and strong position in the Cabinet.
A more information from the official sources reveled that Manohar Parrikar, who is the Chief Minister of Goa and also and ex-IITian is likely to be the new defence Minister. Currently, Arun Jaitley is responsible for handling both Finance and defence Minstery. Manohar Parrikar has a clean background and an impeccable record that makes him a fit candidate for the post of the new defence Minister of India. Earlier in May, Prime Minister Modi took an oath with his slim team of 45 members.
The question here arises whether the expansion will bring in more improvements in the system or would it be like the system earlier. This whole revamp created will surely be in the benefit of the public. With his great ideas and motivational works, Modi has already stolen many hearts, he is considered the man of promises and that can be seen in his work. The reshuffled Cabinet hope to bring more good luck for the public.
