Pakistan again violated ceasefire on Thursday, as it continued to fire along the International Border (IB) on Border Out Posts (BoPs). The area that is bearing the brunt of shootings falls under Jammu and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
A BSF spokesman said today, “Pakistan Rangers resorted to small-arms firing at a few BoPs along IB in Ramgarh and Arnia sectors at 1:00am and 4:00am today,”
He also said that The BSF troops positioned at the border also reacted evenly to the violation made by Pakistan. He further added, “There was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing”.
While Arnia is in Jammu, Ramgarh falls in Samba district.
This was the third time that ceasefire violations took place since yesterday. Earlier, the Pakistani soldiers had undertaken the violation by attacking on Narianpur BoP in Ramgarh sector at around 9:30 PM.
Yesterday’s violation, however, happened 72 hours after the last occurrence of firing from the other side of the border by the Pakistani soldiers, in the Pargwal sector of Jammu district, on late evening of Oct. 19.
The violations had also taken place by the Pakistani on October 17 and 18, when it had fired on Allah mahi Da Kothay (AMK) and BoPs in the Makwal areas of Jammu district.
But before that, the ceasefire was violated on Oct. 16 night and at two occasions on October 17 along the Line of Control (LoC) in Hamirpur sector of Poonch district.
The firing that had continued from across the border in the in the Saujian-Kirni-Shahpur belts of Poonch on Oct. 15, Riyaz, a 7-year-old boy, of Kuiyian Gotirian village, got severely injured.
Another person, Ramesh Chander, Arnia town in Jammu district, who was taken to hospital after sustaining injuries during shelling by Pakistan on October 6, succumbed on Tuesday, thus the toll of those succumbing rose to 10. Mnay more people have been injured because of the firing by Pakistan from across the LoC and IB in Jammu region since October 1.
As per reports, the ceasefire violations attempted by Pakistan since October 1 has left more than 95 injured in which 13 security personnel can also be included.
Owing to the heavy shelling, almost 30,000 people have left their homes and this has resulted into leaving of 113 hamlets deserted in the border areas.
Since the Pakistan has gathered the ire of those guarding the Indian borders, and caused injuries and sorrow to the people in Jammu and adjoining districts at a massive scale, BSF IG, Ashok Kumar, said while talking to the media, “In the light of present scenario with Pakistan, this time India has decided not to offer sweets to Pakistan on the eve of Diwali Festival,”
