Everyone Loves to Have a Tablet
Everyone wants a piece of the iPad (or something that looks like an iPad). It’s that primo “sugar” that Apple is so famous for these days. Don’t believe me? Okay fine, take a walk into some remote or insanely famous US hotels, there will be tons of business titans, all hanging around at the lobby to go online.
Yeah, connecting to the internet through your room can be a problem because hotels don’t have Wi-Fi access points in rooms. Since the original iPad doesn’t have an Ethernet port (which would have come in handy if the rooms had wired internet service), we all had to flog the lobby.
I know, some of the readers will probably enlighten me by pointing out some hotels with wireless spots and all sorts of latest perks. But that’s not the whole point here. I’m just talking about the iPad’s fame and glory. A couple of months ago, no one bothered to blurt “tablet” terminology. It was either the “iPad” or nothing else.
But things changed quickly, we saw the Galaxy and that little Dell Streak; a perfect Doc-Pocket companion. Being a little small in size, the Samsung Galaxy had a heavy price tag as compared to the iPad. The portability factor is nice; 7 inch isn’t too big or too small either. But this device should’ve been a little cheaper, don’t you guys think so?
PCWorld guys had a lot of fun with the Galaxy. In the initial days when this tablet was released, the PCWorld gurus took it out for a survey. They said that 2 out of 3 people would lift the tablet to their ears and shout, “Hey, I’m on the train!” Yep, the Galaxy did have its knack for outdated PDAs.
To cut it short, here’s the good news: there’s a wide variety of tablets in the market currently. The bad news is that you’re gonna have to buy something new every now and then, lest you don’t want to be out of “synch”.
