Cisco Company Official Logo - Google ImagesSeems like, erupting volcanoes (not really relevant in my opinion) are not enough to stop Cisco Systems from announcing its final bidding for Tandberg – a company which was recently attempted for acquisition in 2009.

After this successful acquisition is completely done with, San Jose – Calif. based Cisco will start working on its telepresence program/company, in order to embark on a video conferencing venture. And this is where those European volcanic eruptions play a small part;

-          It has been a joint effort on our behalf and we’ve been working on the marketing campaign since then. Now we have finally cut the par and because of the Iceland’s volcanic eruptions, many flights were halted and hence a delay in the much awaited acquisition of Tandberg” – said Marthin De Beer, the senior vice president of Cisco’c products.

Amidst much awaited updates, the media asked De Beer about further plans of Cisco, pertaining to the aftermaths of the acquisition. It was announced that Cisco is going to allow interoperability on a significant level because people will start working in collaboration with one another because Cisco has been planning on making its videoconferencing service available on clouds and on land, through hosted options.

With a small move in the personnel, Telepresence and Cisco will be getting back to routine. Halvorsen will step down from CEO to the acting senior vice president of Tandberf and the new leader of Cisco’s Telepresence technology. Apart from that, Cisco is planning on working on a new marketing campaign, so over the next few months, all staff members are going to be extremely busy.
