Privacy breach is a big issue on the internet and for that very purpose; the U.S Commerce took the initiative of taking a close look at how much the privacy of online community is threatened these days.

Commerce Secretary Gary Locke believes it – despite of the fact that the internet has definitely raised the bar in terms of profit and economy stabilization but we cannot oversee an individual’s rights to claim anything concerning privacy. Once it is online, it is there for the world to see – or the NSA assholes, according to the latest PRISM scandal going on.

And believe me; Google did have a big role to play in this whole scenario. Applications like Google Buzz and Google – and “oh-I-don’t-know-but-lets-launch-the-beta”, type of things are just messing up a lot of things. Google had to abandon its “Social Networking” project because of things such as the following:

-          Copyright infringement (to some extent – indirectly related)

-          Email marketing and social networking through emails – went too far

In order to proceed in the matters of individual safety and privacy concerns, the U.S Commerce Department is going to hold a meeting on May 7^th. Privacy policies will be discussed in detail, in the Ronal Reagan Building in Washington DC.

To further strengthen the matters, the Commerce Department is going to show up with full preparation – they have been gathering data, feed backs, and survey results, from colleges, schools, houses and offices, just to probe the mindset of an average American.
