Don’t Panic if Someone Stole Your Blackberry 10 Device
Okay, you just bought your latest Blackberry 10 series device, and now you’re the talk of the entire neighborhood. It’s not that the device is too damn expensive or anything, maybe the folks living around you kinda like it – so much so that one day you either end up losing the handset or someone steals it from under your nose.
This mini tutorial is for people who have lost their Blackberry 10 series cellphone, or had it stole recently. You will need the official “Blackberry Protect” program to be enabled on your handset BEFORE it was lost/ stolen. The tutorial also applies to those people who don’t have a Blackberry 10 device, but it is still compatible with the Blackberry Protect plan.
How to Detect/ Track Blackberry 10 Cellphone with Blackberry Protect?
Right after buying your Blackberry 10, I expect you to go through its initial setup process. Many a times, new buyers don’t pay much attention to the setup program, which isn’t recommended at all. If you bought your Blackberry 10 from a vendor, who said that he would apply the settings for you, make sure that the Blackberry Protect program is activated.
Same goes for people who have bought used Blackberry 10 from anyone out there. This is a free service and all it takes is a couple of minutes to set it up right, alongside other cool apps.
To enable Blackberry 10 Blackberry Protect, repeat the following steps on your device:
- Go to the Settings Menu and Tap the “Blackberry Protect” option.
- Your Blackberry Protect menu will look something like the following image. Make sure that it is switched On, and you are signed up to the protection network through the Blackberry ID Program.
If in case, you have not signed up for the Blackberry Protect free service, you can click here to sign up for it right now. Whenever you have misplaced or lost your Blackberry 10 handset, it can be located through the Protection Plan.
In addition, you can log on to the official Blackberry protect website at https://www.protect.blackberry.com to track the device. If some douche bag has stolen it, you can remotely wipe your data, brick the phone and keep on playing an irritating sound to annoy anyone who has it in his/her possession.
