Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that Islamabad would not dare to disturb peace at the border anytime soon since India has been giving befitting replies to violations of ceasefire done by them, on Friday.
He also asserted that under the new BJP regime, India has been very courageous and strong and had already given ample response to Pakistan for its recent infringements along the International Border and Line of Control.
Whileaddressing a convention of BJP workers in Bhopal, Mr. Singh sadid, “Ab shayad jaldi Pakistan himmat nahi karega (Now Pakistan would not dare to violate ceasefire in near future),”
He further added, “We don’t want peace at the cost of our honour.” He was seemingly referring to relatively much weaker response portrayed by the earlier UPA Government regarding the matter of constant ceasefire violations by the neighbouring country.
The Home Minister recalled that the troops from Pakistan had killed 5 persons in shelling and firing from across the border. “I raised the issue with the concerned Director General and asked what was happening on the border. He said we have shown them white flags as per our policy 16 times. I told him, you will not show the flag the 17th time. Following this, our forces gave a befitting reply to them,” he said.
In consequence, Pakistan approached the United Nations requesting to intervene in the issue and asked it to tell India to immediately convene talks with it, he added. The Home Minister also said that the long-standing diplomatic policy of India was that of maintaining peaceful relations with all its neighbours. “But if someone provokes us again and again, then there is a limit to tolerate that,” he asserted.
Talking about other important events, the Home Minister pointed that ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into power, India’s position at the international level has improved.
Speaking about the BJP government’s new ‘Make in India’ initiative, Rajnath Singh explained how the nation in future will be easily able to meet a huge portion of defence requirements locally by establishing manufacturing units with the help of technology transfer.
He also commended Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, for actively executing Jandhan scheme. Owing to the scheme and its successful implementation, 70 lakh people have opened bank accounts in Madhya Pradesh, after it was launched in the country in August.
The way BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh has progressed in all spheres, it has become a “model state” for the entire country, he added.
