Former Google Executive and Facebook COO: Sheryl Sandberg is to appear in court concerning ongoing antitrust issue. Bloomberg respondents said that Sandberg’s appearance is due on the basis of a lawsuit “charging several technology companies for allegedly agreeing not to poach employees from each other.”

As part of the civil suit filed against Facebook, Google, Intuit, Apple, Intel, Disney Pixar Studios and many other companies, the case is awaiting a final decision by court. 5 workers initiated by filing this case back in 2011 when they claimed that the companies were trying to keep down wages through poaching/ non-poaching agreements.

Sheryl Sandberg and Facebook are not named as defendants during this suit. However, people are still wondering about the exact connection between Facebook and Sandberg regarding this case. Sandberg was appointed as Global Sales & Operations department’s Vice President at Google in 2008.

The court has requested Google authorities to submit necessary documents pertaining to the case. For now, among other evidence, Google has also submitted Sandberg’s letter of employment, and the employment agreement signed by both parties.

As usual, Judge Lucy H. Koh is hearing the case in San Jose, Calif. She is still trying to figure out whether the complaint made by those “5 workers” is to proceed has a class action lawsuit. If so, many other employees will be involved in the case, which would complicate the entire case’s proceeding – Lots of dates will be scheduled, a waste of your tax money and etc. etc.

However, if the companies lose the suit, it will surely cause financial injury to them. That’s something which none of the companies can afford right now. Facebook or Sheryl Sandberg has obviously failed to connect with news agencies about the court hearing. This story is going to be one of those news snippets that will not be updated anytime soon.
