There’s a website called: ‘Google Trespass’ and its goal is to help others in defending themselves against Google. It’s a new resolution set up by a law firm that won an apology from Google for trespassing and gathering data, while breaching their privacy barriers.

The battle went on for 2.5 years. A Pennsylvania based family accused Google of illegally taking photos of their property for the website. This law suit has forced Google to pay a grand sum of $1 ONLY! (you read it right. It is not $1 Million, but only One Lousy Dollar) to Mr. Aaron and Christine Boring. The couple was seeking compensation and punitive damages, which Google is going to pay them with a big grin on its face.

Looks like both parties have agreed to the final resolution terms of the case because Judge
Cathy Bissoon of the U.S. Distt. Court wrapped the case up. The Borings pressed changes against Google when they saw a Google Street View Car in 2008, in the middle of taking photographs of the family property. To Borings, the $1 amount is a sweet amount of vindication.

A Google Spokesman said, “We are pleased that this lawsuit has finally ended with plaintiffs’ acknowledgement that they are entitled to only $1.” Google admits that it was guilty of trespassing someone else’s property. In the company’s opinion, the $1 amount is a legal victory, which, for a change, is something that’s not going to inflict financial injuries against the company.

On the bright side, this case has at least proven to hundreds of other businesses, families and people that a company as big as Google can be sued and won over in the Court of the Law.
