The U.S. President’s wife; Michelle Obama recently fell victim to a successful hack attempt that compromised her credit information. In a string of several high profile hacks, the security breach is probably the worst of its kind.

TMZ first reported this incident last Monday, as Michelle Obama; part of the 12 celebrities, who’ve had their sensitive information hacked and then published online. Others in the list are Jay-Z, Beyonce, Ashton Kutcher, Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton.

If there was one thing that was common in these incidents was that the compromised information pattern was something like the following:

• Credit Card Details
• Mortgage Details
• Social Security Number
• Bank Account Details

Particularly dubbed as a “doxxing”/ “doxxed” incident; the information was later on published online at various websites. As far as Michelle Obama’s info is concerned, a message on the website read as: “Blame your husband, we still love you, Michelle.”

Michelle Obama, among several other things, had her Banana Republic and Gap Credit Card information put online for the world to see. Likewise, rap mogul Jay-Z owes $227,115 on his American Express Card. FBI investigators are trying to figure out the case, as the perpetrators are still at large.

Brad Garrett, former FBI agent says, “I’m very suspect [about] information released online. It goes against the very reason you steal them, it’s to use them. Is this a prank? Is this a hoax? Is it to get attention? That wouldn’t surprise me one bit.“
