Chilling 2010 Murder Mystery Accuses Google Earth Data Archives
The Deceased – Dennis and Merna Kuola
In 2010, Merna Kuola and her husband Dennis Kuola were found dead. Their son was charged with murder of his parents because the entire incident looked like a well-crafted hit. However, according to new evidence and several aspects of the case, it is believed that the “hit” might have occurred due to wrong Google Earth address.
The Kuola Murder Mystery and Google Earth:
Eric Koula, the son of Dennis and Merna Koula has been tried and convicted already, ever since the murder took place. However, the La Cross incident is more of a mystery to some people who have looked at the case from a different angle.
You might say what does the evidence suggest in this case? Well, the old couple’s son: Eric Koula, was the one who found the body. Secondly, he was the one who was mostly flat broke. Then there’s his alibi which does not stand up because Eric’s parents were very rich and just one day after the murder, the guy cashed a $50,000 Check with forged signatures of his father.

During the trial, it was repeatedly mentioned that the Koula’s son usually treated his father as an ATM. He would ask Dennis for monetary aids on frequent basis. But are these requests and the forged signature incident enough to put a man behind bars?
Eric Koula’s attorney, in response to the Check forgery and withdrawal incident, says “What kind of an idiot would put a check in the bank the morning after they killed their own parents, knowing that bank records are very easy to get?”
The attorney does have a point but maybe Eric needed to pay the Hitman after the plan was executed – Or maybe not. But the check incident is a mystery of its own. Some people think that it was a professional assassination because none of the valuables were taken from the house. There was no DNA evidence which could primarily implicate Eric Koula and then there is a guy named Steve Burgess.
Steve Burgess happened to be the in the Koula neighborhood. He said that during the days of the murder, he was repeatedly called by someone who’d make death threats. Burgess was the president of the local bank in 2010. CBS News respondents say that whenever you input Steve Burgess’s name in Google Earth, it points you to Dennis Koula residence instead.
Personally, I have not checked the address because it has been 3 years since the incident occurred. Maybe Google Earth has updated its archive since then. Police did trace the caller but this guy had an alibi which added up.
Google Earth and Rodrigo Diaz Murder Case:
A few days ago, ‘The National’ published an article about Rodrigo Diaz’s murder. The 23 year old kid allegedly drove to the wrong house by using Google Earth. As a result, the resident of the house, under the suspicion of trespassing, shot down Diaz in the back of his head. It was a fatal injury which took the young man’s life instantly.
Did Google Earth have a role to play in these murders? What do you think? Let us know through the comments below.
