Tech analysts, on the other hand, think that Amazon is always in an investment mode. It is the kind of behavior which is not strange to Amazon resellers and stock holders. As a matter of fact, Amazon’s unparalleled sales have caused affiliates to take part in different programs that the company has to offer.

The sales percentile climbed to 22%, increasing the profits to $16.1 billion this year. The expectation was of $16.2 billion, but still, Amazon did well as compared directly to its competitors. Recently, Amazon acquired ‘GoodReads’; a social network for people who have a knack for reading, sharing, borrowing and lending books. There is also a couple of Amazon video services, which are part of the gaming consoles and portable devices these days.

During a conference call, Amazon’s CFO (Chief Financial Officer): Tom Szkutak told analysts, “We certainly are investing.” In connection to Amazon’s intent of investing in a couple of smartphone related projects, Szkutak said, “We have a long-standing practice of not talking about what we might do there.” The guy did hint that the online retailer is up to something big.

Over at the media sales section, Amazon has made $2.5 Billion profit. Imagine all the Kindle sales, digital downloads, software purchase and MP3 downloads, you can see that the company has given a hard time to its competitors out there. Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, said, “Amazon Studios is working on a new way to green light TV shows. The pilots are out in the open where everyone can have a say.
