Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed his first election rally after the recent Lok Sabha elections, in Haryana. Speaking at the event, he sought change from the people of Haryana and urged them to vote for the BJP so that it forms the government with full majority.
Mr Modi said that the Oct 15 elections for Haryana’s 90 assembly seats would decide the future of Haryana.
“I want you to vote for the BJP so that it forms the government with full majority. Change is important if you want to move forward. Make Haryana free from the Congress misrule,”
According to media reports, Modi has wooed the voters with his ‘smart-city’ plans. He said he wanted them to bring a clear majority BJP government in the state to help it progress and bring about development.
He criticised the UPA regime for low literacy rate and unemployment in the state and also targeted Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda government over alleged land scams. He charmed the voters with better job opportunities and security.
Modi also took a dig at former CM Om Prakash Chautala, who is out on parole, saying, “If you have any work, is it easier to go to Chandigarh or Tihar Jail? Choice is yours.”
The Prime minister will also be campaigning in Maharashtra for the elections which are to be held there alongside Haryana elections.
