In a very popular book “NOTEBOOK” written by the celebrated writer Nicholas Sparks, there is a touching story about a woman with Alzheimer’s and how her husband used to narrate their own story to her every day, while she forgets it including him.

The first sing of the Alzheimer’s is very difficult to diagnose as it is very hard to differentiate it with age related changes. There are chances that the patient recognizes the changes in themselves before anyone does. Otherwise friends and family are the first to notice changes in the person’s memory, behavior or abilities.

There is a list of 10 warning sings to make identification of the disease early:

Memory loss that disrupting daily life: It very common for an Alzheimer’s patient to forget recently learned information which earlier they use to remember or handle on their own.
Facing challenges in planning or solving problems: changes in their ability to develop and follow a plan or work with numbers or having trouble following a familiar recipe or keeping track of monthly bills.
Difficulty completing familiar tasks: People with Alzheimer’s disease often find it difficult to complete their daily tasks at home, at work or at leisure.
Confusion with time or place: They lose track of dates, seasons and the passage of time. They may sometimes also forget where they are or how they got there.
Trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships: Having vision problems might be a sign of Alzheimer’s. They may have difficulty reading, judging distance and determining color or contrast, which might cause problems while driving.
Problem with words in speaking or writing: They may have trouble following or joining a conversation and may stop in the middle of a conversation not knowing how to continue or they may repeat themselves. They struggle with vocabulary, have problems finding the right word to call things.
Misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps: They may put things in unusual places and forget about them or may be unable to go back over their steps to find them again. Misplacing things from time to time, and retracing steps to find them.
Decreased or poor judgment: People with Alzheimer’s may experience changes in judgment or decision making.
Withdrawal from work or social activities: A person with Alzheimer’s may start to remove themselves from social circles or hobbies, work projects or sports.
