Survey Says Amazon is Most Satisfying Shopping Website
Okay, you occasionally dabble in shopping on the internet. What is your most favorite online shopping website? It could be Amazon because a lot of people have been known to go there. That said, maybe you are into Vishnuu’s Online Shopping portal – it all comes down to one’s preferences.
Anyhow, last Thursday was fun for the guys at Amazon. ForeSee’s Holiday – E-Retail Satisfaction Index revealed that Amazon was the most popular website among satisfied users these days. At least, year 2012 passed by with flying colors for Amazon, while the rest of its competitors had to suffer.
Last time J.C. Penney Co. Inc., for instance, was dragged into the famous search engine results manipulation scandal and now it was rated as an “Okay” website. ForeSee surveys suggest that J.C. Penney had to suffer a huge drop in its ratings, especially over the Holiday season.
As for other online retailers, such as Gilt.Com and RueLala.Com, the ratings were so-so. In fact, “so-so” would be more of a compliment because both Gilt and RueLala was ranked as the worst performers according to the online shopping satisfaction ratings scale. Ouch!
Why Does a Shopping Website Get Negative Rating?
That’s an interesting question. A shopping website would normally get negative rating because of the following reasons:
- Sloppy customer Care: Maybe you ordered something and it was defective. You called for a return or technical support but never heard from the “experts”.
- Hateful Competitors: Your competitors are not okay with your fame. With a little or no dignity left, they start created fake user accounts at the new website and rat out all the products with fake ratings/ reviews.
- The Shopping Website is not technically well rounded. There are bugs, it takes an hour for a page to open, security flaws and mismanagement of user accounts.
In a nutshell, you’d have to be perfect to run an e-commerce business these days. Especially if it is a commonly known business, you’d have to have the best services, highest security and a decent customer satisfaction rate, to be able to operate successfully.
ForeSee’s Holiday E-Retail Satisfaction Index President: Larry Freed says, “The importance of satisfying them (new and repeat customers) and giving a great consumer experience is going to pay back huge dividends in terms of profitability for these retailers”. Larry’s company measures customer satisfaction percentages for different companies and offers solutions accordingly.
Throughout this entire year, Amazon held the highest rating of 88/100. Let’s see what 2013 is going to bring for Amazon and its customers.
