Apple Official Logo - Google ImagesBy now, I think, most of the tech nerds know of this particular news feed. Yes, Apple is being sued by none other, than its own loyal customers. Do you know why? It’s because Apple has made a lot of people angry by sending their personal information to ad companies, without the consent of users in the first place.

All thanks to a guy named Jonathan Lalo; the lawsuit was filed last Thursday in the U.S. District Court in San Jose – Calif. According to Lalo’s statements and the lawsuit report, the iPad and the iPhone collect user related data and send it to third party ad companies with whom Apple has signed contracts with.

What made users angry was the fact that the iPad and the iPhone are able to be tracked down by ad networks due to a UDID – Unique Identification Number. To each iPad or iPhone user, this number is different and acts like a nameplate. Hence, it is easier for ad companies or any other 3rd party company to pinpoint one user in particular. Needless to say, it wouldn’t be a surprise if a sales person knocks on your door, with the exact types of products that you once showed likeness towards on the iPad or the iPhone.

Apple is not alone in this sinking boat, as there are other companies, such as: Pandora, Paper Toss, Weather Channel and Dictionary.Com. On a personal level, I’ve been using Dictionary.Com application for over 2 years now. Needless to say, I never knew that they were transmitting my personal information to 3rd party companies.
