Google’s Stance against Facebook and ROW Social Media Websites
We don’t know when and how things went wrong between Google and Facebook, but the search engine goliath is hell bent on strengthening its hold in the internet industry. Google thinks that social media integration in the search engine is all part of the big strategy; a long term move to toe up against Facebook, Bing and Yahoo.
Things between Google and Facebook are especially not going well for the last few years. Come to think of it, when Google’s Chairman proposed to Mark Zuckerberg about Facebook + Google integration, he was turned down. Of course, this incident laid foundations of a cold war that has yet to reach a conclusion.
Google’s CFO recently said in an interview, “Search is clearly the core product of Google but many of our other products are having phenomenal trajectories. The first driving principle of Google is in fact not money — the first driving principle of Google understands that the Internet is changing the world.
The digital world is exploding and it has so many chapters — it has cloud computing, it has mobile, it does have social, it has searches, it has so many elements. Within that… social (networking) is just one chapter.”
When asked whether social media tools will be integrated in the search engine on long term basis, the CFO said, “Yes, absolutely it will be part of our strategy, yes it will be embedded in many of our products. But at the same time remember its one chapter of an entire book.”
Seeing to the surge in revenues and an upheaval in the popularity campaign of Facebook, Google wants to meet all the challenges in the market through latest state of the art technology and innovative online solutions.
