Mark Zuckerberg’s Sister Gets a Lesson in Online Privacy Etiquettes
When Facebook founder’s sister: Randi Zuckerberg gets a spanking, the rest of the world enjoys those moments in awe. Amidst Facebook’s constantly changing privacy policies and controls that people hardly understand these days, Randi Zuckerberg made one small mistake.
The ill-fated sister posted a picture that she only wanted her friends to see. However, call it karma or whatever; the picture was there for everyone to see. Yes, the entire world. Sweet Jesus! Randi, I think you forgot to have an over the dinner chit-chit with Mark Zuckerberg about posting the picture before doing it actually.
We get it; he may have fiddled with the privacy controls or the privacy policies without letting you know. Therefore when Randi posted the photo, thinking that it’s just for her friends to see, she posted it for everyone. Oops!
Then again, there is always a slutty friend who hates your guts. In this incident, one of Randi Zuckerberg’s friends saw the picture and did her best to “promote” it! In her defense, this friend says that she assumed that the picture was for public viewing. Of course, this photo had a profoundly fascinating nature, so it went straight to the boards!
Randi Zuckerberg Tweets in Despair!
The photo, if you are wondering about it, was of personal nature to the Zuckerbergs. There were family members, most of them sharing an awkward moment of silence, whilst looking at their smartphones. There was a sickly pale looking fella in there too. And a couple of exposed teeth with expressionless eyes! Classy family photo.
Mark’s sister leaps to Twitter and tweets, “Digital etiquette: always ask for permission before posting a friend’s photo publicly. It’s not about privacy settings, it’s about human decency”.
And that’s all it took to make the entire Twitter and Facebook community pour its heart out. Randi really got a shakedown for trying to teach people about etiquettes at social networking websites.
- Anna Tweets: (@randizuckerberg): “Instead of vilifying a subscriber for not reading your mind, maybe you should talk to your brother about recent FB changes.”
- Lyons Tweets: (@randizuckerberg): “It’s so important, in fact, that now Randi Zuckerberg, a not universally acclaimed chanteuse who rocks Silicon Valley with an awesome band called: Feedbomb, as well as producer of the terrible reality series about Silicon Valley, as well as sister of a guy who created the beacon of morality known as Facebook, would like to use this as a teaching moment in which she can instruct the world about basic human decency.”
I implore Facebook’s breast police department and all the nerds working there to convince Mark Zuckerberg and his fat-cat board of monocle clad directors to make a few improvements to Facebook’s policies. Perhaps a fine of $50,000 should be slapped in case someone posts a picture of someone else without asking.
A Fine of $100,000 should be imposed in case the tag whores start tagging people in “Photos of You” without asking. Cmon’ Facebook, it is about moral decency. Didn’t you hear Randi Zuckerberg tweet about it?
