Tech HazardsRecently I was searching across the internet for warnings and stuff that tech companies usually come up with. I summed ‘em up for your immediate reference. The next time you have plugged in something, you’d be safe and sound.

-          Nintendo 3DS:

  • Back in the day, when Nintendo 3DS wasn’t released, I was covering a report for some tech website. I found out that Nintendo 3DS can really harm your eyes. Especially kids with 6 or less than 6 years of age need to be aware of this fact. Luckily, there is a 2D mode in this handheld console, so your little ones should be safe for years to come.

-          Wii:

  • Okay, Wii can be a dangerous console as long as you’re not careful with it. Nintendo officials have rolled out a special set of instructions, which says that you need to have ample space around you before you’re engaged in a game. You don’t want to hit someone in the face or break your mom’s favorite vase? Do ya? And you probably must’ve seen that video on the internet where a boy accidentally rammed a Nintendo Wii controller in a 42 inch LCD Flat screen. Long story short, he was tapping the TV and yelling “MAMA MAAMAaAAAAaaa”.

-          Microsoft Kinect:

  • Oopsie got another live one over here. Kinect is something that makes you turn your body into a controller. Don’t go too far with flailing your hands. At times, you can get carried away with the loser streak and slap someone sitting right next to you. Yes, waving arms from side to side can hurl a lot of things at you.

-          Laptops NOT for the Laps:

  • Laptops aren’t exactly meant for the laps. You can set them on a low level table or something like that, but don’t develop the habit of resting these devices in your lap. You don’t want to have the TSS (Toasted Skin Syndrome). It’s a proven fact that when your bare skin is exposed to a Laptop for a long time, a slight or major discoloration can occur. Your thighs’ skin may appear darker as if burned out.

-          iPod:

  • There are folks out there who think that an iPod is a Bubble Gum stick. Trust me, once you’re holding the device in your hands, its smooth texture, candy bar like shape and weight will make you think of it as if it’s a delicious candy. Apple responded to this psychological stuff by posting a warning in the iPod Shuffle user manual. “Do NOT Eat iPod Shuffle”.

-          Fake PS3 Controllers Can Blow Up:

  • Now this is one tough statement that I am willing to rule out. In order to discourage the use of counterfeit PS3 controllers, Sony issued a statement that said that the fake controller can actually explode, if used for a prolonged duration. Doesn’t this sound like a lame hoax. Sony might have thought of making a failed attempt to lure players towards the original stuff.
    • All the more, you can never be too careful these days. If the PS3 fake controller actually does explode, I wonder what kind of damage it’d be inflicting.
