Free Month of Xbox Live for Users – Bravo Microsoft
This just in from the big boys at Microsoft. It looks like the recent mass outage of cloud saved games disappointed a large group of Xbox 360 gamers over the last few days. If you are not aware of what Clod Saved Games feature is – it is how Microsoft facilitates players so that they can save their games and pick up wherever they left.
To make up for the Cloud Saved Games Xbox 360 outage, the company has offered a free additional month of Xbox Live Gold to its dedicated users. However, this free month is only applicable to users who were affected during the incident.
While Microsoft spent most of the weekend trying to resolve the problem, the affected players didn’t have any alternative other than waiting. However, a very small portion of players did continue playing their games from “New Game” mode, but they quit after a first hour or so.
“We want to thank all of our Xbox Live members impacted by the Cloud Saved Games service issue for your patience and understanding. It took longer than we expected to get back to full performance as we needed to ensure the integrity of everyone’s game saves.
Whether you couldn’t access your game saves for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we sincerely apologize for the delay and inconvenience. We will be automatically applying a one-month extension to the Xbox Live Gold memberships of everyone who was impacted. We can assure you we’ll also be doing a thorough post mortem to help prevent this from happening again.”
