It gives you a feeling euphoria, of being on top of the world, a confidence that you can conquer anything in this world. Some call it trill or some called it as an “Adrenaline rush”.
It is encountered when there is sudden rush of the hormone adrenaline in your blood vessels.
Adrenaline is a hormone secreted by the adrenal gland that races your heart beat, strengthens the force of the heart’s contraction, and opens up the bronchioles in the lungs, in response to fear, panic, or perceived threat. It is also known as epinephrine.
When the adrenal gland is stimulated through an activity that causes stress on the body like sports, snowboarding bungee jumping, etc, it releases a number of hormones, including adrenaline. This increases the heart rate and thereby facilitating blood flow to the muscles and brain. It also causes the smooth muscles to relax and helps the conversion of glycogen to glucose in the liver.
This gives a kind of a feeling that can’t be duplicated or experienced in any other activity, showing you the true sense of feeling alive.
People who undergo an adrenaline rush during an emergency or in life threatening scenarios have been known to do some crazy things which they would not have otherwise done.
An adrenaline rush helps protecting your body. Sometimes it happens that while playing some sport you get hurt but do not feel the pain immediately that is due to the release of adrenaline. Once its effect wears off, you feel the pain.
From your vision to your touch, your senses will be dramatically heightened when you are under the adrenaline rush.
At the beginning of any sport event or any important event of your life you feel overly energized along with the jitters this is due because the body releases glucose and sugar directly into your bloodstreams the adrenaline is secreted.
During an adrenaline rush, your breathing and your heart rate will jump suddenly. Your blood pressure will rise, and you may start to sweat to prevent your muscles from getting overworked during an adrenaline rush.
Your body normally releases adrenaline only when it is required. But while experiencing an extreme adrenaline rush, it’s important to calm yourself down by taking long deep breadths. This will help your pulse to come back to normal along with the blood pressure.
