Prayers of family and friends of the passengers of the ill fated Air Asia flight number QZ8501 have not been answered. Indonesian officials have confirmed that they have spotted the debris of missing Air Asia Airbus 320 that was flying from Indonesia to Singapore carrying 162 people onboard. These included floating bodies of passengers and the exit door of the plane. The search and rescue team also saw a long shadow in the waters of the Java Sea that they think is of the missing aircraft.  This brings to an end to the hopes of people across the globe for a miraculous survival of the air craft along with its passengers.

President of Indonesia to address a press conference shortly

More than 30 ships and 15 aircrafts were combing the area in Java Sea for signs of the wreckage of the missing aircraft since Monday. With dusk fast approaching in Indonesia, search operations will be halted. They will begin in morning tomorrow to recover the debris of the plane. According to Indonesian Navy sources, more than 40 bodies of the passengers have already been recovered. Trained divers of Indonesian Navy have retrieved debris that is presumed to belong to flight QZ8501. Joko Widodo, who is the President of Indonesia, is flying to the island of Surabaya where he will offer his condolences to the grieving family members of the victims of Air Asia flight. He will also hold a press conference to give a briefing on the latest developments in the search and rescue operations. It is almost certain that there are no survivors from this flight alive as the numbers of bodies being retrieved is growing with every passing hour.

Family members burst into tears upon seeing disturbing visuals of floating bodies

The relatives and friends of the passengers on flight QX8501 could not control their emotions and started to cry out loud when Indonesian national television started to beam pictures of pictures of bodies of passengers floating on Java Sea waters. These pictures were taken during aerial searches conducted in the morning. Two family members fainted and had to be taken out on stretchers when they saw the visuals on television. Most of the family members burst into tears and hugged each other as they braced for the worst scenario.

Air Asia flight QZ8501 went missing on Sunday morning when it was heading to Singapore from Surabaya Island in Indonesia. It must be recalled that the pilots of this flight requested to be allowed to fly a bit higher than normal as they were experiencing bad weather, and this was when the plane went missing. The plane lost contact with the ATC at around 7:24 in the morning on Sunday. Out of the 155 passengers and 7 crew members, 149 are Indonesians.

Chief of Air Asia has been staying in Indonesia ever since the tragic incident took place. He rushed to Surabaya as soon as he heard of debris and floating bodies being recovered from the sea. “My heart is filled with sadness for all the families involved in QZ 8501. On behalf of Air Asia my condolences to all. Words cannot express how sorry I am,’’ he tweeted.
